ISBPE's Action Plan for Covid-19
We are committed to keeping you safe and informed. As of right now this year's BioPhysical Economic Conference will be held June 10th - 15th, 2020, at the Flathead Lake Biological Station in Polson, MT, USA.
That situation may change.
Since it's initial outbreak the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has spread throughout China and to 31 other countries and territories, including the United States. (1)
There is growing concern about large conferences with people coming from different parts of the world. Many prominent conferences have chosen to cancel their 2020 meetings. Some of these cancellations have happened abruptly with little warning to their attendees. (2)
We are committed to keeping our community safe and informed.
We will hold the conference if and only if the following criteria are met.
-
The Conference Location is NOT considered an “affected area” and the majority of our attendees are not traveling from or through "affected areas"
-
Affected areas are considered those countries, provinces, territories or cities experiencing ongoing transmission of COVID-19
-
-
Only Conference attendees that are NOT from, have NOT visited and/or are NOT traveling and have NOT traveled through "affected areas" within the month proceeding the start of the conference (from 10 May 2020 until 10 June 2020) will be asked to attend.
-
All other participants will be invited to participate via teleconference.
-
-
We must have the minimum number of attendees needed to justify holding the conference.
What happens if we cancel?
We will inform everyone in the ISBPE community of our final decision by 15 April 2020. We will send out an email to the ISBPE community and post this decision on our website. We will reschedule the conference for sometime in 2021.
Should I register for the conference or submit an abstract?
Yes. We need to know how many conference attendees are interested in attending this year's conference. If you do not register or submit an abstract for this year's conference then we will not know if we have the minimum number of attendees needed to run the conference.
If we cancel ...
-
We will refund your full registration fee and any other fees.
-
Abstracts that have been submitted for our 2020 conference will be considered for our 2021 conference.
What if I register and then decide that I don't want to travel to the conference?
Email and we will arrange for a refund.
Please contact us if you have any other questions or concerns! Thank you for being a valued member of our community.
